O.E.R

Open educational resources (OER) are any resources available at little or no cost that can be used for teaching, learning, or research. The term OER generally refers only to digital resources and,
as such, tends to focus on usage in online or hybrid learning environments, though electronic content can certainly be used in face to-face environments as well. As I looked on O.E.R I learned the different ways o.e.r can help the child's learning process.It can originate from colleges and universities, libraries, archival organizations, government agencies, commercial organizations such as publishers, or faculty or other individuals who develop educational resources they are willing to share.

 This may seem hard but its really simply. Here's how it work.Each resource is issued under a license that spells out how it can be used: Some materials may only be used in their original form. Instructors and individual learners can download OER and use them in formal or informal learning situations, and one of the hallmarks of OER is their flexibility. Many 

are modular in nature, allowing them to be used in-novel combinations to suit particular learning activities. Because open resources are so malleable, they can be adapted to keep pace not only with 

new technologies but also with changes to academic disciplines and teaching methods.

  After doing a little research on my own I found three primary resources that I believe will help my students express themselves but also teach them at the same time. I found a website that gives better hands on examples of what OER is and how it affects the children as well as the teachers. Hewlett is just one of many websites that explain how OER works. This one just gives more in dept examples and it explains it better.

Now with every good suggestions are bad results. In Article 7, they explain both pro's and con's of OER.  

Some of the pro's are developed in an open environment can be vetted and improved by a broad community of educators, s have the potential to spur pedagogical innovation, introducing new alternatives for 

effective teaching, and it brings a greater range of tools within reach of more users. Some of the con's are value of educational resources tends to decrease without periodic updating, and many open resources are not kept current.

Flipped Learning

Flipped Learning...What is that?

Flipped learning is a cool new stratgey teachers are using to help learning becoome fun and interesting.  According to Fliiped Learning, the goal of this method is to conduct, collaborate and disseminate relevant research and act as the clearinghouse for distributing best and promising practices for current and future educators.  Instead of the teachers giving the students the information, they make the students do all the work on their own whereever they decide to.  Teachers are taking the normal way of teaching and flipping it to try to get better results in test grades and get students to understand more. Normally teachers stand in front of their basic set up classrooms lecturing the students about the a certain topic.This basic classroom  is a link explaining whats is a basic classroom and how it should look. Well standing upon the students teachers are hoping some of the information stick to the students brains instead of going in one ear and out the other. Sometimes when teachers speak the students zone out and only catch bits of pieces of the information. Teachers are trying to figure out new methods that will increase student comprehension in the subject and in life.

Now I'm all for finding new methods to better educate the youth however, I'm questioning this method. How can us as teachers and professors make sure our students understand what they are doing if we're not there to guide them through the assignment. Anybody can get someone else to complete the lesson for them or copy the assignment off the Internet or another peer and say they did it assignment but the question is do they understand what they did and did they really do it? On a positive note I do believe this will allow students to become less dependent on the teacher and others and more dependent on their own knowledge. It will motivate them to pay attention to the little help they receive in class and teach them how to figure things out on their own. This method is basically preparing the students for the real world where there isn't someone giving you the answer to everything;You have to work hard and figure things out on your own. If needed help the teacher is there to guide but its showing them that they hold their future in their hands. They're only going to get what they put in.

Experiencing Blog

Working with three other people was always a problem for me. I never liked counting on others with my grades. I've always been an "individual" group setting type of person. I can honestly say I enjoyed working with my group. Everyone held their own weight and we all got along. There was no one that thiught they were above the group and everyone was willing to help onanother. I think the best part about working together was using google doc. That was so cool to me. I never knew you could use something like that exist let alone use it for homework. I loved the whole thing.

Power Point

ARE YOU READY???

For class we had to create a power point that we would tech to our students. My powepoint was about classroom etiquette. Since I’m planning on teaching Pre-K and my students don't know how to read yet I had to come up with a different way to follow the instructions but also make sure my students understood the power point. For my power point I used Classroom-Etiquette as a guide to help me better understand my students. After reading the website I came up with a picture-point. Basically my power point consisted of a bunch of pictures of good and bad behavior. My students are suppose to tell me which behavior was appropriate for class and which wasn't. I also incorporated sound affects and a video with Elmo about Sharing to keep them entertained and to give a example of what I just taught. I had a blast creating this power point. It help me understand different learning methods as well as get a better understanding of how they learn. Can't wait to create another one.

Education and fun should go hand and hand with one another. As I was scrolling down some of the blogs I ran across a very interesting one about play time. Fun Time encourages you to get up,get out, and have fun. It show different ways for children to enjoy themselves with toys, particles from the house and the great outdoors. The children had a ball exploring with one another and playing with the toys. This blog made me want to go outside and play hope it does the same for you

My Beliefs About Technology And Learning

             

Technology can be a helpful  source to some and the biggest down fall to others. Some use technology as a source, games, to do work and so on.Some people biggest fear of technology is the internet. Almost every piece of technology has the internet.The internet holds alot of information many may and may not want to be public. It also holds pictures and records that was taking years ago. Its easy to get displayed on the internet just with the push of one button. Thats why its best to protect all personal information and refrain from using credit cards or social secruity number on the internet. Once its in cyber world its there forever.


There is some good in technology. It helps us in many ways. Technology is a tool, machine, instrument, weapon, and appliances that help us understand the know-how behind everything. Technology is a great source for almost everything. Due to some machines  holding information from years ago, we have a way to learn about the history of this wonderful place called earth and the good people have done on it.  It is also known to keep children as well as parents entertained.ts also a grat way to stay updated with currents events. Without technology we wouldn't be able  to operate many things or know much about our enivironment. Technology is the best thing that could happen to us but the biggest down fall but either way im glad to have it.
